Niacinamide And Vitamin C Reddit

Niacinamide And Vitamin C Reddit

Are you using niacinamide and vitamin C together?

I've read numerous articles now explaining why they can be used together, and so I decided to jump on board. I use TO niacinamide and then Beauty Pie's vitamin c capsules about 5 mins after (I don't know why I wait!)

I haven't seen any negative effects (no flushing etc) but my skin has been through some shit in its 30 years (YEARS of acne and prescribed treatments).

I was just wondering if anyone else is doing this, and if so, what the results have been?

I don't think it was a general thing relating to all brands but The Ordinary alone, because they said not to use any of THEIR vit c products with their niacinamide ones.

I wonder if they said that because of the old studies or for another reason

All. The. Time. It is more of a myth nowadays that there could be toxic or whatever look. The ontething I do is create a "layer" between them with an essence or another hydrating serum.

Thank you for replying! Can I ask what niacinamide and vit c you use? Looking to maybe change the vit c

I use both every morning, but only added the Vitamin C at the start of the year. Honestly I've not noticed any negative effects, but then I've not really noticed anything hugely positive either.

I use TO Niacinamide and then The Inkey List's Vitamin C and EGF.

Personally no as every vitamin c I've tried stains my skin and niacinamide does zero for me However I would use the two together based on all the new research.

I personally use my Vitamin C in the morning and then my Niacinamide at night. It's become part of my routine now but I have previously used them together, just to trial it and I saw no side effects. I believe in larger, purer doses it can be toxic but I've also read that using these on your face in these quantities won't do any damage whatsoever.

I have had great results from using them together - although I use Vit C in the morning and the niacinamide is in my tret formulation, which I use at night. Pigmentation is improving!

I used to use TO niacinamide and TO vit C together and it would clump up and do like a jelly glue situation on my face and turn my face white like had toothpaste on it . I did this for a couple of weeks and I noticed that my skin became less textured. I still had hyperpigmentation from old acne scars, but the texture improved a lot and my pores got way smaller and even though I stopped the mixture after two weeks the effects lasted a few months. I think like someone mentioned already, it all depends on your skin and results sill def vary .

I use a a niacinamids serum under a vitc serum with no issues

I wouldn't usually consider it, as I prefer to use vitamin C at night anyway and niacinamide during the day. However, I have been using the Purito Vitamin C serum which also includes a small percentage of Niacinamide, and I haven't noticed any negative effects at all. In fact this serum is really good at giving my dry textured skin a nice glow. It is very exfoliating for me, and it looks like my skin has been temporarily 'retinized' which is so odd but I love it!

I like the brightening effects of vitamin C but I always breakout with regular use. Is that just me? I've only tried the clinique dry powder.

level 1

i don't. it ended up irritating my skin 😅 after i use them separately, my skin would calm down.

From all the videos I've been watching, I think it's more that vitamin c cancels the effect of the niacinamide and vice versa.

So it's not really that it would have an adverse, just no effect at all.

level 2

I don't think that's true, it seems to be based on very old research.

What do the two do to help skin?

Have a look at Paula's Choice. Google:

Paula's Choice vit c explained

And same for niacinamide 😊
